Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way. The software was OTA pushed out for the devices that weren’t included in the Android Oreo beta program, so we are now discussing about a global roll out of Android 8.0 for Samsung’s latest flagships.Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way

But, as always, there is a downside: we are talking about OTAs so we are talking about restrictions when it comes to receiving and applying the Android notification – on your device the stock Android firmware should be already running and root shouldn’t be ensured (if tweaks were applied you cannot receive the Android 8.0 Oreo OTA).Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way

Moreover, the OTA is gradually pushed out which means that some users will receive the Android 8.0 Oreo software sooner than others. Basically, a manual update process might sound like a better idea. If it does, you are in the right place. By checking the guidelines from below you can learn from where to download the full Oreo firmware package for your Samsung branded device (for now this software is available only for the Galaxy S8+) and what steps to follow for successfully completing the actual flashing process.Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way

Of course, the Android 8.0 Oreo update is fully stable. The ROM will smoothly run on your Galaxy S8 / Galaxy S8 Plus so from this perspective you have no reasons to worry about. The update brings new features, apps and capabilities along with bug fixes, stability improvements and security patches. Overall, this is the best Android experience that can be enjoyed on the Samsung Galaxy S8.

Now, if you choose to follow the manual update procedure that’s explained below you need to know that you will complete an official operation. You will use the official Android 8.0 Oreo software that’s available for the Samsung Galaxy S8 so Samsung KNOX won’t get tripped – you won’t risk in losing your phone’s warranty. Additionally, Odin will be used – this is the official program offered by Samsung especially for update types of operations.

Your data should be also safe and secured during the installation process. However, since we are talking about personal data, info, accounts and files the best will be to save everything – in rare situations your data might get corrupted or wiped out while Odin is being used for applying a firmware package (we will discuss about these situations a little bit later). Anyway, the main idea is that a backup is recommended (it’s optional but a really good idea). The goal, if you choose to resume a backup, is to save contacts, call logs, texts, images, videos, audio files, market apps, internet settings, calendar info, saved passwords, EFS folder, IMEI / NVRAM data and further more.

On the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus you can already use built-in cloud storage platforms in order to save everything you want. Other backup and restore solutions include syncing the files with the Google Account or using dedicated apps from Google Play.Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way

You need to use a computer if you want to manually install the Android 8.0 Oreo firmware on your Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. There you will have to install Odin and download the full firmware package. Your smartphone will be also required as a connection between your devices will have to be established. Furthermore, on your phone you need to have Developer rights enabled – from About Phone you need to tap repeatedly, for 7 or 10 times, on Built Number, just until the ‘you are a developer’ message appears. On your SGS8 you then have to check the USB Debugging option which is located under ‘menu – > settings – > developer options’.

At this point it’s important to verify the power that’s left on your phone. If the power is lower than 50% your device can get switched off in the middle of the update operation. Unfortunately, in that  software related issues. Note: for now the full Android 8.0 Oreo firmware package is available for download only for the Samsung Galaxy S8+. Thus, the steps from below are compatible only with this particular model of the S8 (the steps are the same, what’s important is to use the right software – the one that was developed for your phone as otherwise you can easily end up in damaging the Android core system).

How to Install Stock Android 8.0 Oreo on Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus
1.Access this page and download the update file on your computer.
2.Then, download Odin. Save the file and run the executable file – then follow on-screen prompts and resume the flashing process.
3.On your computer install the drivers for your Galaxy S8 – if you don’t know from where to get these drivers use the Samsung KIES toolkit.
4.Meanwhile, switch off your smartphone and wait a few seconds while the shut down process is completed.
5.On your computer run Odin.
6.Reboot download mode on your Samsung Galaxy S8 – press and hold the Power, Volume Down and Home buttons.
7.Connect your handset with your computer via USB cable.
8.Odin must recognize your phone; if everything works as expected, on the flashing program you should notice the ‘added’ message displayed and the ID:COM field turned yellow or blue.
9.Note: if that isn’t showed you need to close Odin, unplug the USB cord, reinstall your phone’s drivers and repeat the steps explained above.
10.Next, from Odin click on the AP option. Afterwards load the Android 8.0 Oreo firmware from your computer.
11.Don’t select the Auto Reboot and Re Partition options. And, when done, click on Start.
12.Sit back and relax while the flashing process is automatically completed.
13.In the end, close the flashing program, remove the USB cable and reboot your Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus.
Possible problems and how to address them
If you experience a boot loop
The last reboot will take a few minutes – it will be definitely longer than a regular reboot. So, the most important aspect is your patience. However, if during this reboot a boot loop is caused you need to take action in order to fix the problems. So, follow: try to reach recovery mode (press and hold Volume Up, Home and Power at the same time, for a few seconds) and from there initiate a full wipe (yes, that’s why I recommended a backup before) by choosing ‘wipe data factory reset’ followed by ‘wipe cache partition’. Of course, when the wipe is done reboot your handset and enjoy the new Oreo firmware.Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way

If Odin gets stuck in the middle of the update operation
If while you try to complete the steps from above Odin stops running and you get stuck right in the middle of the flashing process, you have to follow: close the program on your computer (from Task Manager if otherwise is not possible) and remove the USB cable; now, you need to force-restart your smartphone and reinstall its drivers on your computer; in the end you can restart the update operation from the beginning.Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ Android 8.0 Oreo Firmware Officially Available  (Update Toturial and way
